Man-Machine Interface Comments

In reading the analysis, it was interesting to actually see Mr. Licklider expand on what would soon be the history of the modern day internet, the expansion of the personal home computer, and the exploration of the soon to be HTML that developed communication between man and computer.  In reflecting upon when this was written I further understood that even in the 1960's there was the far-reaching exploration of how computers could further work to enhance our human endeavors.  At the time, with the recent development of ARPANET, the expectation was high that a breakthrough between man and computer was not only possible, but inevitable.  What is most interesting is how specific most of the theories would truly come to pass.  From the layout of the most basic elements of a common language structure to the understanding of creating a folder structure that would allow easy storing of information, to the advanced step of understanding voice recognition the history and foundation of this valley was truly forecasted in the analysis.
