Video résumé’s are a recent trend that capitalizes on utilizing technology how it is expected to be received, or at least available, in technical professional industries. Having the ability to digitally introduce yourself and provide answers to common interview questions gives employers a better chance to “Meet the Real Me”, as the company name states.
To succeed in corporate America, keeping up with the most applicable technological tools is a must. With new software applications and hardware equipment being developed at a rapid pace, utilizing these to remain a leader in any industry is crucial. So, by having the ability to visually screen candidate’s résumé’s it puts a functional use of technology in an employer’s hands, while showcasing your personal ability to put in the extra effort for a job. This is going to become a very important element in the development of traditional hiring practices, as it will allow employer’s to evaluate candidates from around the world in a more efficient manner and increase their ability to hire the correct personnel.

This sounds like one of the most useful technological practice for hiring managers in human resources departments today! I had not considered making a video resume that allows employers to see who I am, hear my voice, and get to know a little more generic information about myself. I'm actually surprised that most companies don't ask applicants to post a video resume when applying for jobs online. Maybe something like an interactive recording where a series of questions pops up on the screen, and they give the user 30 seconds (or whatever amount of time they see fit) to answer, until the next question would appear. Online generic interviews? COOL!
